Laura Blasi's December Newsletter viewpoint article connecting Assessment and IR resonates at Ivy Tech Community College where we recently created an Office of Academic Assessment. As the new director having served five years in IR, I appreciated Dr. Blasis concrete guidelines connecting the natural link between assessment and institutional. One of our top priorities is to identify the "pockets of success" based on measurable data. Shining light on success stories and quantifying such successes is a key to sending a message not only internally to faculty, but also to outside constituencies, that assessment matters. Thanks to NILOA for its regular viewpoint articles!Rick Bentley, Director of AssessmentIvy Tech Community College - Indianapolis
