Hello to all navigating our site and welcome to the discussion board.Being here tells me you have an interest in what's going on at The University of Illinois and that you might have questions. Well, this is the sight that can help. Our resource link can also hook you up with information for just about anything you want or need to know. It is found on the left side of the website page under "Where to find more information" > Campus and Community links. There too, you can find out about volunteer information. Volunteering is an excellent way to get involved in your student's college experience and a great way to meet other parents who have a common interest just like you. It affords you the opportunity to get to know the Universty better and in a more personal way. At the end of May through the beginning of July, the Moms and Dads Association staffs a table during Summer Registration for incoming and transfer students. We pass out Parent 101 handbooks and other relavent brochures, and try to encourage parents to leave their email address so they can receive bi-monthly updates and quarterly newsletters from the Illini Union Parent Programs Office. We also let them know about Moms ans Dads weekends and about our tuition drawing. It's a lot of fun and overnight accomodations and a lunch voucher is provided for the volunteer. If this sounds like something you may want to help out with or want to know more about you can email Bob Gatti, Dads Association
