  • Exploring Evidence of the Anthropocene: Archaeological and Ecological Interdisciplinary Research Experiences for First Generation Students in the Upper Mississippi River System

    This REU site will offer students experiential, interdisciplinary research opportunities in archaeological and ecological sciences addressing topics related to the onset of the Anthropocene. Students will examine research questions related to deep-time environmental dynamics in the Upper Mississippi River System and changing environmental conditions. This eight week program will include five weeks of field research and data collection in both archaeology and ecology. The final three weeks will include integrating archaeological and ecological datasets to make meaningful inferences about the Anthropocene. REU participants will leave the program having generated and presented an original research poster while gaining practical research experiences. This program, which provides housing and a stipend, will run from June 5 to July 28, 2017. Application deadline is April 17, 2017. Click for more information and how to apply.

  • Paid Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Toxicology

    The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Toxicology (SURE Tox) program at the University of Illinois will provide high-quality research experiences for under-represented minority junior and senior undergraduate students during the summer academic break.  The program involves active participation by faculty members from several departments and colleges at the University of Illinois, all of whom have expertise in toxicology and experience trainingundergraduate students.  The program also interacts with the PEER and the Environmental Toxicology Program.

  • IAEP Student Research Grant Program 2016

    The SRGP is an effort to increase student interest in the environmental professions and to support them in conducting research and defining their career goals. The student research grant program will review all applications and give one First Place award of $1,200 and one Second Place award of $700 to aid students in conducting their research project (limited to supplies and mileage). The winners will receive their awards and recognition at the IAEP May 2016 meeting (location TBD).
