Social entrepreneurship and social innovation are terms heard everywhere lately, but what do they mean exactly? And how do these new strategies impact nonprofit organizational structure and funding? Dr. Kimberly Wiley, faculty in the Public Administration Dept. at UIS and providing oversight for the Certificate in Nonprofit Management, discusses how nonprofit organizations are shifting away from traditional fundraising and grantmaking and towards new strategies that bridge mission fulfillment and the socially conscious consumer. Join us for a discussion on the role of social enterprise in today’s nonprofit sector and to learn about resources available on and off campus for the social entrepreneur and innovator.
