The Chancellor's Committee on the Status of Women (CCSW)

MISSION:

The mission of CCSW is to improve the status of women at UIC with a primary objective to advise and make recommendations to the Chancellor regarding attitudes, policies, and procedures that affect women students, staff, and faculty. It is the desire of CCSW to represent the concerns of UIC women at all levels.

FACULTY CONCERNS: Reviews policies on faculty promotion and tenure to ensure equal opportunity for women; work to enhance the participation of women at all levels of the university, especially in policy making positions; and addresses concerns of faculty and salary equity. http://www.uic.edu/depts/ccsw/committee/FA.html

MINORITY WOMAN CONCERNS: Addresses issues of particular concern to women of color; promotes and supports research and evaluation intended to improve the status of these women; helps to create a university climate that will help these women realize their educational and professional goals; and recommends changes in policy making and in campus policy to assure the inclusion of women of color in these decisions; and implements the mentoring program for support staff. http://www.uic.edu/depts/ccsw/committee/MWC.html
