News from the Web Team

ATLAS is moving to a new framework for creating websites!  The new approach uses a Content Management System (CMS) that allows you to make changes to your site directly in your browser; no special software required.  In addition to the new back end tools, the framework also includes a clean new appearance that adopts many of the latest web design trends, is mobile friendly, and is highly accessible to all.

ATLAS is rolling out the new framework to departments as fast as we can and will be contacting each department to consult on the migration.  You can see examples of the new framework by visiting the recently launched Chemistry, History, Political Science, Religion, and Anthropology department sites.

Website Editing Workshops Coming in the Fall

ATLAS will be holding technology workshops for anyone who makes changes to their website this fall.  The first one will be in September and will cover a variety of topics, including a Q&A session with the ATLAS Web team.  If you are interested, please complete our survey and let us know what you’d like to learn about.  You can always contact us at atlas-web@illinois.edu if you have questions about your web presence.
