State Fair Exhibitor Information
 
 

We hope that all of our 4-H members that exhibited at the Illinois State Fair had an amazing experience! We are proud of all of your accomplishments! All 4-H exhibitors should have received an exhibitor button during judging. The State 4-H Office has extra buttons, so if you did not receive yours, or if you exhibited in the Junior Livestock Shows and didn’t make it to the Orr building please let Kristin know and she can request one from the State Office. Monical’s Pizza is hosting a Community Day in support of the Fantastic 4-H’ers of Fisher on Monday, August 21. Plan to eat at Monical’s in Champaign, Rantoul, or Mahomet and 20% of your total bill will be donated back to this club. Click HERE to print the flier that must accompany your order for the donation to be applied.

 
State 4-H Dog Show: August 26 & 27
 
 

The Illinois 4-H State Dog Show will be held Saturday, August 26 & Sunday, August 27 at the Dog Training Club of Champaign. The club is located at 2210 E. Ford Harris Road, Urbana.

Obedience classes will be held on Saturday, with check in beginning at 8 a.m. Showmanship classes will be held on Sunday. The show is open to the public, but contestants must be 4-H members who received a “qualifying score” in their county show.

Invite a Friend to 4-H
 
 

It’s hard to believe that the new 4-H year begins September 1! We know how much all of our 4-H members enjoy the program, so why not invite a friend to your next club meeting? More information on new project offerings and re-enrollment will be available soon!

 
4-H Awards and Record Books
 
 

The 4-H year is ending so it is time to finish your 4-H Record Books and apply for awards. Information about Champaign and Vermilion County 4-H award applications, nominations, record books, and club records was mailed to 4-H leaders.

Everyone Loves a Road Trip
 
 

September 23, 2017 @ University of Illinois Campus

Come hang out with 4-H members from across the state in a NEW event to kick off the NEW 4-H year. Save September 23 and plan to arrive by 10 a.m. on the University of Illinois campus. Get an inside look at U of I. Discover new things you can do in 4-H. Start your adventure today! $10 cost includes lunch, t-shirt, and goodie bag. Road Trip is open to 4-H members age 13-18. Tell your friends and go ‘road trippin’ with a few hundred of 4-H members around the state.

All the Fun of Camping Without the Mess
 
 

Enjoy a weekend family camping trip without the prep or mess! Come experience rock climbing, zip lining, archery, fishing, campfires, crafts, cardboard boat racing, and other fun activities. 

At least one youth attending must be 8 to 16 years old, and children must be accompanied by at least one parent or guardian. The fee for participants 8 years and up is $75/person, while those 4-7 years old are only $35/person. Plan to arrive anytime from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 22. Camp runs through 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24. Late arrivals will be accepted from 8-10 a.m. Saturday.

Let’s Celebrate National 4-H Week
 
 

National 4-H Week is October 1-7 and we want all of our clubs to celebrate! All 4-H clubs in Champaign and Vermilion Counties are encouraged to participate in a window display contest. 4-H clubs should pick a business, school, or community center that is willing to allow clubs to setup a window display during National 4-H Week. The purpose of the window display is to promote 4-H. More details about the contest will be available shortly!

 
Champaign County 4-H Achievement Celebration
 
 

Champaign County 4-H members, families, and volunteers should save the date for the Achievement Celebration on October 29 at 3:00 p.m. The event will be at the Champaign-Urbana Elks Lodge. More information will follow soon!
