Well Prepared for Classroom Culture
Twenty-year-old Rachel Gross from Barrington loves her Illinois experience so far. Majoring in elementary education, she has a new appreciation for science thanks to her Friday-morning class Teaching Elementary Science I. She's also impressed with the tight-knit group of College of Education students who have collaborated with her every year. Rachel has participated in study abroad trips to France and Australia, which gave her a global perspective on varied education systems and structures. "Both trips opened my eyes to new methods and productive ways of teaching and structuring classrooms, as well as how different but similar our curriculum is to other countries," she said.

Critical Language Scholarship Info Session

The Critical Language Scholarship program is a fully funded language-immersion opportunity that takes place overseas for U.S. undergraduate students. The summer program provides opportunities for a diverse range of students at every level of language learning, with the goal of broadening the base of Americans who study and master critical languages.
