Getting Started in Research Workshop

Staff members from the Office of Undergraduate Research will discuss at this workshop various forms of undergraduate research that takes place on campus. In addition, students will learn how to locate research opportunities on campus and ways to contact faculty research mentors. Please register in advance of the workshop, which is limited to 50 applicants. Pizza will be served!

Placements in all subjects and grade levels are available, and the group is always looking for passionate volunteers. 2018 International Education Career Fair

The College of Education is hosting the 2018 International Education Career Fair for students and others who are interested in working overseas. It's a chance to meet and schedule interviews with schools from around the world and discuss opportunities with international organizations. The two-day event will also feature workshops on building résumés, as well as information about education culture and school practices abroad. Learn more and register.
SOAR Seeking Student Volunteers This Semester
The SOAR program (Student Opportunities for After-School Resources) is seeking tutoring assistance from University of Illinois students this semester. SOAR provides after-school enrichment at International Prep Academy in Champaign for Latina/o bilingual children in grades two through five. These students benefit from tutoring in reading and homework, and tutors will have the opportunity to gain cross-cultural awareness and relationship skills. Unity High School is looking for a special education aide to work with life-skills students in grades nine through young adult. Next-generation entrepreneurs with startup ideas are encouraged to apply for and participate in the 2018 Cozad New Venture Competition. The contest is designed to inspire students to create new businesses, and team members are invited to create a venture centering on a topic of their choice. The Office of Undergraduate Research is accepting submissions for the 2018 Undergraduate Research Symposium, which will take place April 19. The symposium is the signature event of Undergraduate Research Week (April 15-21) and offers an opportunity to show students, faculty, and staff from all disciplines the undergraduate research that's taking place on campus and its potential to affect the world.
