Beckman Institute Call for Applications
The Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology has several awards and fellowships available. The application deadline is March 6, 2018. See below for specific programs.
- European Union Center Request for Proposals for Title VI Center Renewal;
The European Union Center invites faculty, departments, and units to submit proposals that meet the anticipated priorities of the Title VI grant, including European languages and cultures, EU and transatlantic policy issues, foreign language training, diversity and engagement with underrepresented minorities, strategic partnerships with European countries, and outreach efforts. Announcements Ancient Cahokia Future Visions Conference The Illinois State Archaeological Survey, part of the Prairie Research Institute at Illinois, is bringing together world-renowned archaeologists, advocates, alumni, and leaders from around the country to take part in a public conference on April 27 that will rethink the global relevance of an ancient Native American city. The conference is free to attend, but registration is required. Find more details here.
Call for Abstracts: Emerging Contaminants Conference Present your work on emerging contaminants in the aquatic environment at the Emerging Contaminants Conference on June 5-6 at the I-Hotel. Oral presentation abstracts are due on March 12 and poster presentation abstracts are due on April 16. Find more information here.
Improve your HPC Skills Through Blue Waters Webinars Interested in expanding your high-performance computing knowledge? NCSA's Blue Waters Webinar Series is now available for the research community. All webinars are broadcast on YouTube and recorded for viewing anytime. Registered participants will receive the link to the live broadcast and will have the opportunity to ask questions during the presentation. Find full details about the webinars here.
Statistics Workshops and Consulting Available A partnership between CITL, Library's Scholarly Commons, and Tech Services brings free training workshops and consulting on several data software programs, including Stata, SAS, and ATLAS.ti. Workshops take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Consulting is also open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Main Library (Room 306). Women@NCSA: "Build Your Own Tech Talk" Workshop Join Women@NCSA for a “Build Your Own Tech Talk” workshop on February 7 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the NCSA lobby.
