Leveraging Existing Governance |
IT Council
We are working with the IT Council as it develops strategies for transforming how value is delivered through technical services. Support for researchers is a focal area with discussions about centrally coordinating transformative efforts with local support to more efficiently and effectively meet needs.
IT Faculty Advisory Committee
We benefit from governance provided by the IT Faculty Advisory Committee (IT FAC), a subcommittee of IT Governance. In addition to providing guidance on priorities and budget planning, the IT FAC has identified areas of focus which have been instrumental in research support planning.
Data analytics and visualization is a growing need with nearly half of campus faculty seeking easier access to analysis and visualization help. In response, we continue to: develop the Social Media Macroscope; expand the use of Splunk, a machine data indexing tool; extend statistical consulting services via the CITL-Library consulting pilot; and grow expertise while connecting to other campus entities who operate in this space.
